Dear Students,

The iPRAKTIKUM team is pleased to announce yet another great opportunity with “Yiddish in the City”, this time with the Toronto Jewish Film Foundation (TJFF).

Do you share a passion for great films? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and gain experience with a leading arts and culture organisation? The Toronto Jewish Film Foundation (TJFF.com) is accepting applications for a Festival Production and Communications Intern for the 2025 Festival season which takes place June 5th – 15th.

Earn academic credit for your placement with TJFF.

We are a small but mighty office team located in the Annex, close to the TTC. We offer a dog friendly environment, all day long free gourmet coffee, and the perks of getting to see incredible films (All-Access Pass included)!

Responsibilities:

The Festival Production and Communications Intern will work directly with the TJFF team. The applicant will gain exposure and experience in the following areas:

  • Film flyer creation and distribution.
  • Festival program and marketing material proofreading.
  • Updating the website and film database.
  • Assisting with guest relations.
  • Adapt creative campaigns to Social Media and Digital ads/banners.
  • Film info research.
  • Interface with TJFF team on project needs.
  • The Intern will have the opportunity to work with the TJFF programming team, and learn its criteria for film selection.
  • View submissions on FilmFreeway and provide written feedback.
Qualifications preferred:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of film and ability to write critically about it.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage and adhere to deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent, consistent service in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and a self starter with a go-getter attitude
  • Eager to research and generate new ideas and a willingness to join a dynamic team.
Skills preferred:
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, techniques and technology. Ability to work in: Photoshop; Canva; Google Drive.
  • Ability to work in InDesign and Illustrator is an asset but not required.
  • Experience in updating website content and implementing design changes in WordPress or a similar platform.
Currently in pursuit of a relevant university or college degree.

Compensation will be based on the standard rate of $29/hour for up to 5hrs/week.
