The iPRAKTIKUM team has partnered with the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CGCIC) to offer a paid, part-time internship in Communications & PR. Build your portfolio, grow your network, and contribute to German-Canadian business relations while you study.
About the Host
The CGCIC strengthens economic ties between Canada and Germany through tailored services, networking events, and strategic initiatives. The Toronto team (20+ staff) works in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Work is hybrid (Toronto-based).
Role Snapshot (Communications Working Student)
- Manage and create content for CGCIC’s LinkedIn channel
- Create visual assets & short videos (e.g., Canva)
- Support CGCIC’s monthly newsletter (content & basic data management)
- Maintain and update website content (incl. SEO basics)
- Draft presentations, speeches, and marketing materials
- Contribute to video production/editing projects
- Support corporate communications across platforms
What You Bring
- Fluency in English and proficiency in German (written & spoken); French is an asset
- Experience or strong interest in marketing/PR/communications
- Clear writing and confident communication style
- Some experience with social media and graphic design is a plus
- Reliable, professional, and organised; interest in German-Canadian relations
Time Commitment & Compensation
- 3–4 months, approximately 6 hours/week (hybrid)
- Paid opportunity
- Start date: As soon as possible (to be arranged with CGCIC and iPRAKTIKUM)
Eligibility
- Open to U of T undergraduates enrolled in German courses
- Completion of GER 300 or comparable German skills strongly preferred
- Must be eligible to work in Canada for at least six months
