We are excited to highlight Arts & Science alumnus Stuart Jones, whose academic journey at U of T has led to a career in international policy and transatlantic relations.
After graduating in 2021 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from St. Michael’s College, Stuart went on to join the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C., where he works on European affairs. In this role, he contributes to research and policy discussions on issues such as European security, NATO, and cooperation between the United States and countries in the Western Balkans.
During his time at U of T, Stuart deepened his expertise in German and European studies through the iPRAKTIKUM experiential learning program in the Department of Germanic Languages & Literatures. As part of the program, he completed an internship with MotionLab.Berlin, where he conducted research on democratic transparency in Canada and Germany.
A Dean’s List scholar, Stuart was also actively involved in campus life, serving as an executive member of the European Studies Students’ Association and as an undergraduate curriculum counselor in the German department. His experience studying languages and engaging with international issues helped shape the global career he is building today.
