You will need:
- 500g flour
- Salt
- 2-4 eggs
- 375 ml water
- Butter
- Cheese and onions optional
- A pot and salted water to cook the Spätzle
- A slotted spoon of some sort
- A small cutting board and a flat-edged knife
- An oven-proof dish if you are going to melt cheese on top
