Marlo Burks publishes new book ‘Aesthetic Dilemmas’

Marlo A. Burks (PhD, 2016) has published her most recent book, Aesthetic Dilemmas, with McGill-Queen’s University Press. Praised as a “clear, sensible, effective, and persuasive” work of scholarship, the monograph elucidates a rich network of ideas about aestheticism, money, suffering, labour, and futurity. Burks’s expertly translated passages and critical remarks give readers a chance to encounter Hofmannsthal’s work with fresh eyes and to think deeply about art’s relation to ethics.

The book is available at the MQUP page. Please also check out this blog post Burks was invited to write.
