Dear Students,
Learning German? Interested in gaining work experience during your studies while taking advantage of your German skills?
Whatever your major is, the iPRAKTIKUM team is ready to help you find an exciting internship opportunity in Freiburg, one of Europe’s greenest cities, or Berlin, which was recently ranked as Germany’s social innovation capital. We offer pre-placement advising, support while you are on the job, and post-internship follow-up.
How an internship can benefit you:
• Apply the skills you learn in the classroom in workplace situations.
• Gain valuable experience in innovative green-sector companies and organizations.
• Practice your German and develop global fluency.
• Gain insight into international work culture and jump-start a future career.
• Engage with local and global communities.
• Get course credit or a co-curricular citation on your U of T transcript.
The iPRAKTIKUM team is accepting statements of interest for our Germany-based program, futurGenerator, which focusses on sustainability and social innovation-oriented organizations and companies in a variety of fields, including environmental education, migration projects, policy and practical conservation work.
*We are very pleased to be able to support your placement with a stipend to help cover some of your living expenses in Germany!*
If you are interested in an internship experience with futurGenerator, send us a brief statement of interest (please let us know about your interests, skills, and extracurricular activities), a CV, a copy of your university transcript (an unofficial copy is fine) and the contact information of at least one U of T instructor who has agreed to support your application. Send your statement as an attachment and include information about your level of German proficiency and what kind of placement you are looking for. We will do our best to match you with an organization in Freiburg or Berlin that corresponds to your interests. You will find information about our partners on our website or via the following links: zusammen leben, Agronauten, aiforia, Bike Bridge in Freiburg and NOCA MOBILITY and FuturZwei in Berlin. Check out some testimonials by previous interns here.
Note: At this stage you are not applying directly to one of our partners. After we receive your materials, we’ll help you find a potential host organization that best suits your skills and interests and make the connection.
Our deadline is: Friday, November 17th, 2023
