In her talk, Professor Anna Shternshis shares the stories of lost Yiddish songs she discovered at the Ukrainian National Library in Kyiv. With the performance of award winning musicians and composers Alice Zawadzki and Bruno Heinen, these songs premiered for the first time in Poland on the TEDxKazimierz stage. A recipient of 2020 Guggenheim Fellowship, Dr Shternshis is currently working on a book tentatively entitled Last Yiddish Heroes: A Lost and Found Archive of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union about Yiddish music created in Nazi-occupied Ukraine.
