The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures is very pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Hang-Sun Kim to the rank of Associate Professor.
Over the past several years since joining the Department, Prof. Kim has worked extremely hard to continue to improve our language program, introducing innovative learning materials and digital resources and providing expert training for our graduate student instructors. This year Prof. Kim won an International Student Experience Fund grant to launch a one-of-a-kind Multilingual German Workspace that is designed to support third language learners. She is the founder of the annual DAAD German Language Teaching and Learning Workshop and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Languages Institute initiative. A passionate and committed teacher and scholar, Prof. Kim is leaving a mark on the profession beyond the U of T, and we look forward to seeing her continue to succeed in the future.
