April 6: Monika Rinck: Die Notenfolgte Schleppe. An Author Visit

MONIKA RINCK studied the History of Religion, Comparative Literature and German Literature in Bochum, Berlin and at Yale University. She has published widely in numerous venues since 1989. Her poetry collection, Honigprotokolle, for which she received the Huchel Prize, appeared in 2012 with kookbooks. Risiko & Idiotie, Streitschriften came out with the same publisher in 2015. Monika Rinck is a member of PEN, Lyrikknappschaft Schöneberg, Akademie der Künste Berlin and Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung. In 2015 Monika Rinck was distinguished with the Kleist Prize and received the Ernst Jandl Prize just this year. She collaborates with Orsolya Kalàsz on translations of Hungarian literature, works with musicians and composers and occasionally at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Wien. Monika Rinck’s most recent publication is Hypno-homullus (roughbook#39, 2016), a collection of “hypnotic translations” of poems by the Swedish writer Magnus William-Olsson. Monika Rinck lives and works in Berlin.
