PD Dr. Petra Löffler teaches media philosophy at Bauhaus-University of Weimar. She has held positions at the universities of Cologne, Vienna, Regensburg and Siegen. Her research focuses on media archaeology, film theory and digital culture. Among her publications are: Verteilte Aufmerksamkeit. Eine Mediengeschichte der Zerstreuung (2014), Gesturing the Image. The Chain-linking of Images in Jean-Luc Godard’s Passion (2014), Bodies of Distraction (2013), Picturing the Metropolis: Paris in the Eye of the Camera (2010), Ekstasen des Blicks. Augenblicke des Kinos (2010), Gesichter des Films (with Joanna Barck, 2005).
