iPRAKTIKUM Yiddish in the City: Festival Programming & Production Internships at TJFF 2026

Dear Students,

The iPRAKTIKUM team is pleased to announce yet another great opportunity with “Yiddish in the City”, as the Toronto Jewish Film Foundation (TJFF) is once again looking for interns.
 
Do you share a passion for great films? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and gain experience with a leading arts and culture organization? The Toronto Jewish Film Foundation (TJFF.com) is accepting applications for a Festival Production and Communications Intern for the 2026 Festival season which takes place June 5th – 15th.

 

Inquire with your home department about earning academic credit for your placement with TJFF.

We are a small but mighty office team located in the Annex, close to the TTC. We offer a dog friendly environment, all day long free gourmet coffee, and the perks of getting to see incredible films (All-Access Pass included)!

Responsibilities:

The Festival Production and Communications Intern will work directly with the TJFF team. The applicant will gain exposure and experience in the following areas:

  • Process film submissions and catalogue them in the Festival database.
  • View submissions on FilmFreeway and provide written feedback.
  • Proofreading Festival program and marketing material.
  • Researching info on selected films.
  • Assist in coordinating Festival volunteers and juries.
  • Collect film assets like photos, trailers, and posters from film teams.
  • Process film assets for use in newsletter, the website, etc.
  • Assist in promotional outreach and preparing content for social media.
  • Prepare communications for our FilmMatters educational programme.
  • Interface with TJFF team on other project needs.

Qualifications preferred:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of film and ability to write critically about it.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and adhere to deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent, consistent service in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and a self starter with a go-getter attitude
  • Eager to research and generate new ideas and a willingness to join a dynamic team.

Skills preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, techniques and technology. Ability to work in: Photoshop; Canva; Google Drive.
  • Ability to work in InDesign and Illustrator is an asset but not required.
  • Experience in updating website content and implementing design changes in WordPress or a similar platform.

  • The time commitment is 10hrs/week. Compensation will be based on the standard rate of $29/hour for up to 5hrs/week.
