iPRAKTIKUM Paid Internship: Social Media Assistant, deadline Oct 20

We are delighted to announce a new paid internship opportunity under iPRAKTIKUM: Social Media Assistant. Application deadline: October 20, 2025.

About the Role:
The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures is seeking a dynamic and creative student who is familiar with the department’s programs, courses, co- and extracurricular activities, and internship opportunities to support our promotional efforts. The role will focus on enhancing the department’s presence on social media and expanding our reach within the UofT community.

Main Duties:

  • Help maintain the department’s social media accounts by monitoring activity, posting and sharing content.
  • Assist with creating promotional materials for courses, events, and activities using existing templates.
  • Support basic video editing in CapCut or Canva, including trimming footage, applying transitions, using provided templates, and adding music and captions.
  • Assist with student interview planning, including drafting questions, and hosting interviews.
  • Contribute ideas for new social media campaigns highlighting German and Yiddish learning, German and Yiddish Studies, and departmental offerings.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support for communications and events.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of GER100Y or equivalent German language skills.
  • Strong interest in communications and social media.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, RedNote) and an understanding of how they are used.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with simple design or editing tools (e.g., Canva and CapCut).
  • Organized, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and deadlines.

Hours of Work: Maximum 10 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $28.68
