The iPRAKTIKUM team is pleased to offer one additional paid placement in the German in the City School Partnership with University of Toronto Schools (UTS), conveniently located right on campus.
About the Program
The German in the City program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to apply their German language skills in a real classroom setting. Participants gain hands-on teaching experience, build professional connections in education, and contribute to the broader GTA community.
This internship may be recognized on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR), which appears on your U of T transcript.
Internship Responsibilities
Placements are paid and may include:
- Co-teaching and job shadowing
- One-on-one tutoring and mentoring
- Development of learning materials and special projects
Interns may also work with graduate student mentors on and off site. Teaching assignments are determined in consultation with lead teachers at the school. Every effort will be made to accommodate your course schedule and other U of T commitments.
Eligibility and Time Commitment
Applicants must:
- Be undergraduate students who have completed at least GER300
- Be able to commit 2–4 hours per week during the spring term
Classes take place at UTS on:
- Tuesdays, 1:20–2:30 pm
- Wednesdays, 10:00–11:10 am
- Fridays, 8:45–9:55 am
Compensation and Start Date
- Standard rate: $29 per hour
- Placements can begin immediately
