University of Toronto’s Modern Languages and Literatures among the best 15 in the world

In its “QS World University Ranking by Subjects,” the influential QS World University Ranking 2014 confirmed that the modern languages and literatures departments at the University of Toronto are among the best fifteen worldwide.

“This impressive result underscores that Faculty of Arts and Science Departments at the University of Toronto are world leaders in the research and teaching of modern languages, literatures, and cultures,” says Markus Stock, Chair of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Toronto. “While there are no rankings available for individual languages and literatures departments, the QS results show that the breadth, depth, and quality of teaching and research in our modern languages, literatures, and cultures departments is outstanding. I am proud that the growing undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures contribute to this wonderful trend.”

In the QS Ranking, the University of Toronto was ranked 20th globally. The Humanities at U of T were ranked 14th among the Arts & Humanities worldwide.
