Originally from rural Alberta, I have a BA (‘92) and an MA (‘94) in English Literature from the University of Alberta. I spent many years working in professional sports with the Edmonton Eskimos and then the Vancouver Canucks and Grizzlies. From there, I moved on to non-profit arts administration work with the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, eventually moving to Toronto in 2003 where I found great personal fulfillment selling books in small independent bookstores. I am now pursuing another career change, this time in German-to-English translation. I am delighted this academic year to be at the University of Toronto, taking my MA in German Language Studies with a focus on translation.
