Guest lecture, October 21: John Greenfield: The Corporeality of Space in Wolfram’s Willehalm

Prof. JOHN GREENFIELD teaches German Literature of the Middle Ages at the University of Porto (Chair of German since 2005) and is also Guest Professor at the University of Palermo. Since 2010 he has coordinated the GLITEMA (German Literature in the European Middle Ages) international Erasmus Mundus master program with 10 EU universities. Among his publications are books on Wolfram’s Willehalm, Perception in Wolfram’s Parzival, Das Nibelungenlied, Norm and Transgression of the Literary Genre, as well as on figures of Portuguese culture. In 2014 Prof. Greenfield was awarded the Gutenberg Teaching Award by the Gutenberg Teaching Council (U. Mainz).
