Geoffrey Winthrop-Young teaches in the German and Scandinavian programs at the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies at UBC. Among his recent publications are Kittler and the Media (Polity 2011), a co-edited Theory, Culture & Society special on “Cultural Techniques” (2013), various papers on Friedrich Kittler, media theory and media archaeology, and the translation of Bernhard Siegert’s Cultural Techniques: Grids, Filters, Doors, and other Articulations of the Real (Fordham UP 2015).
